Newbie just getting started!
« on: May 22, 2009, 08:35:46 PM »
Just beginning to get into refuel/rebuild a 1965 BS90, which is now showing in the gallery.  Being a newbie to the scene, with virtually no experience at this sort of thing, I can use all the help (advice, guidance)  I can get.  I do confess that I have a buddie who is into rebuilding and has agreed to help some but I am always wanting more help and pitfalls to avoid, etc.  Also sources for such stuff as mechanicals, and "pretty" stuff.

Welcome to the site Richard created. I don't have any exposure to the 90s, but one of the things I enjoy about the site is the inspiration it can offer. I was sitting here on a cool sunny Sunday Memorial day weekend wondering if I was just going to sit on the couch watching the Indy 500. But then I read another post that reminded me of my gas tank. If a wine bottle cork will fit in the outlet of my GTR tank, then I have no excuse to wait before trying the milkstone product for rust removal. My tank isn't severely rusted, so maybe I can clean it enough to avoid doing an internal coating solution. I'll see if I can get a photo to capture the before and after looking from the filler hole.
But post your questions and someone can probably offer help or just post status updates and maybe motivate someone else.
