Sure glad to find this site. I was given this 100 a couple months ago and brought it back from the southwest desert to the midwest. The paint and seat did not fare well in the extreme heat the last 39 years but the bike only has 3400 miles on it. I had to clean the carb and wanted to make sure the oil pump was working before I fired it up. It was not, in fact the worm gear was not turning so I opened the case up and discovered that the plastic pump gear was broken. I hope to find one but what puzzles me is why it failed. In over 40 years of riding and working on bikes, I have never seen this. Pardon my long story, the question to all the good talent out there is do you all suppose age and maybe desert heat made the plastic gear brittle? Has this happened to anyone else? Thanks
