Chibi color scheme, colors
« on: November 25, 2012, 11:12:18 PM »
Did the Chibi standard (non deluxe) come in different colors? Mine is red but I have only seen pictures of blue/silver Chibi standards. Does anyone know what the color schemes were or is it the same for all of them? I know the exact color shading would have to be researched but I don't know if all standards were blue/silver or if mine was repainted red.

Hi Gene
I have the same model - What paint did you use?

Note the different decals for Australia - instead of By Rockford Motors it says By Tas Motors

When I start the restoration, hopefully the old paint is under all of the other paint. Since mine is a standard I will probably put it back blue and silver. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the info. What name/brand is on the engine? On the shifter/left side? I recall the first US Chibis having Bridgestone on the silver plate and the later ones having Rockford? Has anyone seen a 50cc Chibi?

Mopar,

Is there any chance that the orange on the Chibi is the same orange they used on the '71 BS100 GP and TMX?  Did you paint that bike?

I Have A GP & A TMX But There IN The 60s   & Both Are Red   Ive Seen The Painted Tank Ones But I Dont Have One To Compare  They Guy That Paints By Stuff Just Takes The Best Sample Before We Strip It And Matches It Up   So Find The Nices Shineist On Faded Spot     They Can Scan It At The Paint Store And Mix It   GENE

Paul
The magneto cover plate has 'Tas Motor' instead of 'Bridgestone'. Interestingly, there is no number stamped on the clutch side - it is blank.
Cheers

Gene
What I meant was was the paint two pack, enamel or acrylic?
