I think some very early, possibly prototype, models had turn signals. Here in the U.K. the original 1968 road test hack GTR had small turn signals (similar to very early Yamaha ones), but none of the 33 official imported GTRs came with turn signals. If you can find a copy, there is a nice picture of the road test GTR on the front cover of the UK magazine Motorcycle Mechanics for June 1968.
I have never seen genuine turn signals on GTRs from any other markets - although my original Bridgestone factory parts list (not the Rockford one) does list turn signals handlebar switch and relay unit, which suggest that the factory at least planned to fit them at some stage in development.
On my own GTR, I have fitted Suzuki turn signals as fitted to the late 1960s T250/T350/T500 models, and I reckon they actually match the bike a lot better than the unobtainable genuine items. I managed to find a genuine handlebar switch on a scrapped 175 Hurricane, as it seems that many of the Hurricane Scramblers sent to the UK came with the switch an wiring, but without the turn signal lamps. I presume a cost saving exercise by the factory export department?
