Clint from Australia - GTR 350
« on: January 01, 2015, 06:11:47 PM »
Hi Everyone,
I've just joined the site and I'm looking to purchase a 68 or 69 350 GTR to restore.  My late father bought one new in Penang, Malaya in 1968/9 and then brought it home to Australia in 1971.  I've been researching and think that my best bet is to look for a complete, unmolested US bike and import to Australia.   I'd love to have a parts bike to go with a restoration if possible.  I haven't found a local club here yet (I think VJMC is the right one??) to see about local bikes, parts and support but will try that next.

Welcome to the bridgestone site, Clint. This is the best place to find help and expertise as you undertake your project. You'll find there are several members from Australia, but from previous reports, the US  is probably the best place to find your prize. Watch ebay and the classifieds listed here on the site. Some of the members watch craigslist and other sources and list bikes and parts for sale. Richard Clark, the owner of the site has an impressive inventory of parts for all bridgestone models. His contact info is available by clicking the "click here for parts" button. In general, good luck and please keep us informed of progress and let us know how we can help.

Hi Clint,
This is a message from Mike Anderson. Just getting in gear after the holidays. Have a message from you in my e-mail. Return a message to  fleagle14@embarqmail.com if you are still looking. I have the bike you responded to from the ebay listing plus several other options. Would prefer to separate our business from ebay. Have sold other bikes to friends in Australia and other countries.
Happy New Year
Later Mike

Hi Clint
Welcome to the site. There are still Aussie delivered GTRs out there. I suggest that you contact COXY on this site, he has a GTR and some parts (used). He may be able to help you with advice etc. He lives near Canberra.

BTW I need a 100 Sport and a GTR to complete my set of BS bikes - and I almost forgot - a Lottery/Lotto win.
Otherwise the director of finance says NO.   ;D ;D

VJMC is the best club with several Members owning Bridgestones. There will be a National VJMC Rally in Canberra in mid March 2015.

Hi Clint,

I'm in Melbourne and have a GTR under restoration.
I bought it from the US as a parts bike, via ebay, some years ago.
I couldn't find one here at that time after some years of looking.
My contact details are below if you'd like to say hello.
Contact with others holding the same interests certainly keeps the enthusiasm bubbling.
Where are you please Clint?
