Title: Just registered, saying hello
Post by: theradbaron on January 06, 2010, 10:49:27 AM
Hello Bridgestone guys,
I recently got into Bridgestones somewhat by accident.  I mentioned on another forum that I didn't own any rotary-valve 2-strokes and was curious to learn about them.  A member on that site offered to sell me a complete but not running 175DT engine for cheap, so I bought it as a learning tool.  It turned out to be in fine shape, just needing pistons, rings, and a right-side cylinder.  I took it apart and really started to admire how it was built, so I was considering trying to get the parts and making it a runner.  Well, a few months later I was at the AMCA swap meet in Wauseon, OH and found a complete 175 bike without the motor for practically free.  Fate, it seemed.
So I've since found the pistons and rings I needed.  I just need the right-side cylinder and I'm in business.  I'm sure I'll be needing some expert advice when I'm putting it all back together, and this seems the place to get it.     -Eli
