GTR on show in England.
« on: February 19, 2013, 11:43:46 AM »
Even though the GTR was expected to pick up an award by most exhibitours the judges over looked it, simply ignorance on their behalf.

Heard some good comments from the punters though. Wrong seat fitted, Suzuki bought out Bridgestone, the tank badges are missing, this is the Bridgestone with 12 gears but the extra gear change lever is missing on the right hand side, it's a recent bike made to look like an old one.

Those comments are interesting. The bike is quite handsome, thanks for sharing this photo. Is the brochure on the display stand, the one with the Asian female in a black leather jacket? i think those brochures were printed in Japan. I wonder if when the brochure was  printed, there was still a chance the GTR would be sold in Japan.Would you mind sharing the brochure  with us here on this site?

Wow!  Bike really looks great under those lights.  I can't believe you didn't take home a award/trophy.....something!  Like you said, "ignorance on their behalf".

I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it Ziggy.  I'm sure your bike had tons of admirers that fully appreciated the time & effort you put in it, unlike the uninformed naysayers or judges with their own little "agenda's".  ;D

That's one pretty GTR!

Thanks for the kind comments guys, almost forgot to mention that I had a long chat with Graham Weeks who gave his nod of approval on the GTR.

Below are the pages from the brochure Printed in Japan, look at the front brake in photo four.

Is the brake mechanism/anchor on the right/throttle side of the machine? Is it a different mechanism?

not doing to well with the bikes at this end we did a leak down test on bonnie running at 60% on the right not good heads off today maybe you would like a t140 for your next project .but i did find an old boxer and might get that really cheap.the 350 gtr though started up on the 3rd kick after sitting for months.

How the GTR would have looked in a magazine back in the day.

Would have been a show stopper! Great Job. So is the front brake in the brochure, anchored/set up on the right/throttle side of the machine?
