I can't imagine how this guy had found so many collectibles in his lifetime.  Interesting at the very least.  if you know who this guy is or was, please share.

Quite an astounding collection of things. Just imagine the space required to store and house all that stuff?
The license plate value might have related to one state's entire and complete collection of all years since that state began issuing plates.
Also, it might have included plates which the owner had to provide or had made from a state issued number.
Early ones were made of leather and are worth big bucks to collectors.

I never did locate the expensive cap. Can you provide a direct link to the item?

Check out the video. That's a pretty young looking Jay Leno!

Just going through the collection takes a lot of time to review and take in.  I have not had enough time to really look it over in depth.  I understand it went for over 4 million U.S. dollars in total.

License plate collections went for unbelievable amounts and made the Model T's and the like look like a value.

Those are some big dollar motorcycles needing full resto's!  These went to the elite collectors of the world for sure.

coxy,
OK, thanks .....I see it now.
Sold for $ 7,188 .

Well, not sure about this one but, I'm sure a HENDERSON hat is probably more rare than a HENDERSON motorcycle, and that's saying something.
Some of the pins must be very rare also......you know how those pin collectors can be. They might trade an entire collection for one they don't have, or sell the farm to get it.

I could be wrong, but that sure looks like a US Army dress hat from the 60s?

some of those pins must be pretty rare to fetch that price maybe there is a story that goes with it or it used to belong to some one famous .
there is a bsa m20 also that sold for $7000ish that's around the going rate for a running one maybe $10,000
for a immaculate one .these were mass produced during the war and still 1000's exist the only rare piece for a military m20 is the snorkel that sat on top of the gas tank ,in saying that maybe only a handful made it to America
