Title: 1966 BS 90 Sport OI
Post by: fahrkle on March 26, 2018, 11:12:50 PM
Hello all - I have been mixing gas at 20:1 using Amzoil 100:1 Synthetic. I want to use the oil injection system. It is all intact and as far as I know, if it is like snowmobiles, I can manually hold the arm so it is "injecting" at full throttle even though the bike is idling. I believe I can watch the air in the lines if they are clear, but if they are dark lines, at idle, I should be able to really see it smoke when all the air is out of the oil line. Is this the best way to bleed the injection pump or should I loosen the little screw at the bottom that has the spring and ball and wait until oil comes out, tighten it and then hold the arm open for a bit. The other question is what oil/type/brand should I run in the oil tank. This is the bike I got for my parents for their 50th wedding anniversary, and I have a feeling a full tank of pre-mix will not be enough for a trip. So, I need to make sure the OI system is working properly.

Thanks for all the help -
