Silver but not chrome plating?

There are a number of parts on a 350 which are not chrome but some other bright silver plating, anyone know what it is?

For example, the muffler joint clamps, phillips screws, axle spacers, rear brake torque link etc.

I agree, and a lot of parts were cadmium plated back in the day, also.
