roundabouts
« on: April 06, 2016, 06:24:39 PM »
Hey guys
I went for the first ride on the gtr after a month. I don't know what it's like in other countries but here in the nations capital in Australia there are a lot of roundabouts of the dual lane description. These roundabouts really suck riding the gtr with no blinkers. I am sure people here think that you're begging for money or flipping the bird rather than indicating the direction that you intend of taking and try to run you off the road .

I can relate coxy. There are several roundabouts in LaJolla CA where we visit often (San Diego area...Paul's stomping grounds I think) newly introduced and they are difficult enough to negotiate in a car with blinkers. I remember, in my youth, on Sanibel Island in Florida,  there was one that we used to make a point of avoiding by taking side streets.  ;D

A friend of mine who is a Postman and rides a Honda 110 'Postie' bike here in town told me of an incident when he was turning in the main roundabout in town. A clown in a car decided to travel next to him in the the same single lane ( instead of behind him) - he found it a little unnerving.

They are out there - idiots in cars  :D :D

Yeah that's the truth. It's got to be worse in the states at least in oz you enter and exit to the left  and you don't have to take hand off throttle
