Title: Dent removal from chrome exhaust
Post by: scott demauex on November 27, 2020, 06:43:37 PM
I have seen several reviews on removing dents from the exhaust pipes either with air pressure or filling pipes with water and freezing. I am wondering how that works with chrome. Does that overheat , stretch or discolor the chrome ? Any experience feedback anyone can provide to what I saw on the site earlier? Any word on Richard. Can his people fill orders if we provide part numbers ? Just trying to keep the project moving . Happy Thanksgiving to all !!!

Regarding Richard;

He just responded to a parts request I submitted.

I suggest you send him a parts request.

Randy

 Randy , I know Richard is seeing to his wife . I can blame him one bit. I have spoken with his guys and I now know that no one other than Richard can do the parts . My question is other than ebay is there any other good source for parts that I might not be aware of ? I see a lot posted on ebay and have bought but needing items I don’t see. Any suggestions from you or anybody ??

Some replayers send them to welder/repairer prior to plating who fills the dents and scrapes with braze and then the plater does his best to polish every fault out.its difficult and an improvement but not always perfect.the best way is to split the exhaust and knock the dents out and then weld back together.again perfection is not always achievable but ive had good results working closely with a chromer.he can grit blast the internals solving the problem of carbon deposots spoiling his chroming baths.
