Bridgestones at Mid-Ohio

I am of course getting emails from the AMA, telling about the Vintage Days. It is almost daily now, that an email comes in. But, I don't read anything about BS's being there. I thought they were one of the marques that are highlighted.

Dave.  Me too, getting emails. no mention of our BS, I guess we are below all the rest of the brands. The messages seem to surround Mr Smith.  The lack of promotion will keep us as "just something else to do" Luke

I hope they start talking about us. I sure plan to be there on Sat. My brother and I are both bringing our 175 DT's.

Bridgestone is the featured club.

The AMA has an article in their last magazine
regarding Mid-Ohio and the Bridgestone display.

When you check out the AMA MID OHIO site

http://www.vintagemotorcycledays.com/

And you check out

http://www.vintagemotorcycledays.com/moty/

Husqvarna is the brand of the year, not Bridgestone, sorry to say:
After you get deep in the site, it then only mentions Bridgestone as club of the year.

It seems you guys are the club of the year even though my hat goes off to your effort, however we should get a lot of exposure for
Bridgestone in general, perhaps then we can keep some of this interest through this site. Luke

I am a Charter Life Member of the AMA. You don't get a magazine after 25yrs. of support. I get all my info from the AMA on line.

Yes you are right. If you are a full Life member, that will get you a magazine as well. A Full Life member is one that pays dues all up front. A Charter Life Member is one that does it for 25yrs.

I need some help from anybody that's going to Mid-Ohio this week.  I've got a 200cc Bridgestone that I'm trying to get ready to defend my AMA championship that I won last year on Larry Hayden's Bridgestone.  I've got everthing put together on my new motor except for the points and condensors.  Does anybody have a set of the later model points and condensors - that's also going to be at Mid-Ohio - that can sell me a set?  I'd be happy to list you as a sponsor.  :) I can't rely on the mail at this point since I leave on Thursday and am not sure they can get to me by Wed.

Thanks for the help.

Another letter from the AMA. No mention again of BS. I think it is kind of sad. But regardless, I will be there Sat.

My Bridgestone was at Mid-Ohio.  But I didn't have a good weekend with that.  (I did with my Honda though winning two races).

I was entered in the GP125 Road Racing class with my 175.  I finally got my bike together and fired up, after a huge help from Richard Clark with some last minute parts, on Wednesday evening before I needed to leave.  But really didn't have enough time to check it out completely.  I had two sessions of practice on Friday and failed to make one lap of the track in each session.  In fact it died at the same corner worker's station on my first lap of both practice sessions.

The first thing I found was the petcock on my stock tank was barely flowing any fuel.  Some creative fixing helped that out.  But the bike still wasn't making any power.  I adjusted the points and found the left side was closed a little too much.  And it did run better after adjusting them but still far from good enough to be competitive in that class.  On Saturday I made it for three laps in my race before I pulled in.  I was in dead last place and couldn't even see anyone in front of me.

So now I've got to spend some time and try to get this sorted a little more before my next ARHMA race at BeaveRun in two weeks.  I'll post up what I find if anybody is interested.

Craig,

Sorry to hear about the issues with your 175.  Let us know what you find out about the power loss.

Best, Orion
