Hi Kevin...
"Oldbikeguy" here in Washington State. I have 2 incomplete orange Chibi's, (I've not tried to check what year they are ). I have 2 seats, but both need new covers. I will be keeping 1 seat for sure to resto one Chibi.
I did see a NOS ( new old stock) complete Chibi seat on eBay recently for about $75-$100. To my knowledge, currently, no one makes or sells Chibi replacement seat covers...
I've recently been dealing with an eBay seller who sells reproduction seat covers for vintage ( 60's-70's) Japanese cycles (mostly Honda). I've bought seat covers for some of my old Hondas & they are pretty nice & of reasonable quality. I am currently dealing with him to have him begin making reproduction Bridgestone 50cc Homer & Bridgestone 50cc Surfrider/BS7 model seat covers. Like the Chibi seat covers, to my knowledge, no one makes seat covers for those model Bridgestones, either. I recently sent this eBay seller an old, un-usable, but complete original Homer seat cover & BS7 seat cover to be used for patterns to make new ones.
If this Bridgestone motorcycle seat cover fabrication process does work out, I have been given permission via e-mail from Richard Clark ( this website's owner) to post an ad that has the seat cover seller's contact info. I will soon re-contact the eBay seller & ask him if I can send an old, but complete Chibi seat cover for him to begin making those as well. The only thing I'm getting out of this are repro Homer, BS7, & Chibi seat covers. My primary intent is to help create a source for owners of Homers, BS7's, & Chibi's to obtain decent seat covers that no one currently offers. I may also be able to offer you some Chibi parts, limited to frame, wheels, ( non-engine items). Let me know what you need.
Take Care,
Dale
