Hi, my name is Gary Anderson, I'm the proud owner of a 1971 Bridgestone 200cc MKII SS. Actually, the bike was my Dad's back in the early 70's. It was the first bike I rode (legally) on the street when I turned 16 in 1974. Shortly after that, my Dad sold the bike to a friend of his. That fellow rode it a while, and parked it in the field when it quit running. I don't know what the problem was, but back then, neither he or my Dad could find parts for it. Anyway, my Dad passed in 2007, and this friend of his came to the funeral home where my Mom had pictures posted from Dad's scrap book. Of course, there were pictures of Dad, my sisters, and me, on the Bridgestone. The fellow offered it back to me for free because it was sitting outside for so many years. He said he'd be embarrassed to charge me for it. He bought it from my Dad for $100. It was a total wreck when I picked it up.
After more than a year of buying new parts from Richard (and a couple of others) I got it on the road again. Runs great. Starts easy. Idles nicely. And I haven't yet had any trouble with fouled plugs. It's a hoot to ride it to the local bike events. The folks at the local Harley open house, and the new Indian dealer were quite taken with this bike. Most had no idea what it was. A few had to take pictures. The bike has more new parts than I care to list. And I know I have more invested than it will ever be worth. But I wouldn't trade it for any of the new Harleys or Indians. Probably a bad financial stand, but it's the way I feel.
Anyway, I've posted some pictures, and will post more over time. Hope some of you will enjoy the pictures.
Gary
