could you tell what model is this bike?
« on: January 18, 2012, 04:52:55 PM »
Hello gurus, can somebody identify this bike. It looks like Tora but has smaller wheels - 10 inch rims. Exhaust is slightly different. Crank case cover is different too - clutch cable is coming in thru carb boot, not thru hole in case. Frame has only one bar in front of engine, not two. Engine has only date number on it R00351 but not model number. On the cylinder body there is number 88 cc. I can't find any info on this bike. Please help. Thank you in advance.

I would respectfully disagree with scrambler. There are lot of differences.
1. Handle bars way different.
2. Gas tank (chibi has a seam running thru the middle all the way around)
3. Front forks.
4. Frame - chibi has no bar in front of the engine.

mine looks lot closer to Taka.

any thoughts?

I didn't really even look. I saw a little bike and assumed it was a Chibi.

Upon closer inspection I don't think its a Bridgestone/Rockford.  Engine does look like a Bridgestone/Rockford but what is the logo on the cover?

Have a picture of the other side?

I'm stumped. That frame is not from a Tora or a Taka. That looks like a pre-injection 90cc engine.

wow, that is the one. Thank you guys.
I've never heard of Ram Jet, not that I know a lot about Bridgestones, but it's never mentioned in model lists. Does it mean it was made by somebody else, not Bridgestone Rockford?

Made by a company named Minico. If you google "Ram Jet Minico" you'll get a little more info.....there's not a lot, but there is some.

Can we conclude mitiasha is in fact the Craigslist ad poster???
With the pic in the ad, I have no doubt.
It's the same one posted here in the thread.

Who said it was a BS engine???
I don't recall any discussion about that small fact......other than the ad poster stating that claim.
Anyone know that to be fact???

Just asking............

you are right, looks like this bike is little too big for my 10 year old son. I'll be working on restoring it anyway, but if somebody wants it more then me, I'll let it go.
