Good Morning my fellow Stones,
I am in the process of a frame off restoration o a 1971 BS 200 SS for which the motor is pretty much 6 feet under. I was wondering if anyone knew of or has a 200 motor with generator they are willing to part with that is not frozen?
Thanks in advance,

bsracer,
I am in New England but the bike is in Alabama at a friends shop. The rods and crankshaft are rusted beyond repair. Also the pistons are frozen to the cylinders as the chrome has begun to flake away.

Thanks Moonpup,
I spoke with the below gentlemen in FL however he wants to sell his complete bikes with are 200cc and I do not need a whole bike just a a motor, generator and some misc chrome parts.
As for Kevin, he has been great help so far but will have to check back with him on a complete engine.

If you go to the "bikes found on web" section, someone is selling two 200's for sale down in the Baltimore, MD area for $750. I don't know if their still for sale. Maybe he will cut you a deal on one of them. A little road trip may be the way to go.

I might have one. Not sure at this point. All my 200's are in storage at the moment and but I do need to get over to them to pull a few parts. I still have lots of parts but I am getting down there on engines that still turn over.

I have 1 but it is just as bad thay are a lot harder to come by then a bs175 motor it seems to me.

That relates directly to production numbers:
BS 175: 35,400
BS 200: 7,800

I was just wondering if your engine was salvagable. Cranks can be found on Ebay and the cylinders can be nikasil plated. Is the transmission ok? I might have a few sets of 200 cases that I can check out and possibly a good set of 200 cylinders. If you want to give me a call, I'm in San Diego.
