Title: Generator wiring
Post by: Timo on June 10, 2020, 05:06:03 AM
I purchased a new generator from Richard a while ago,  I am finally putting the bike back together. But the wires are different colours to what the wiring diagram shows.
We have three brown wires a white and a black, can anyone help with where they go?

The white and black will be from the ignition points, the three  brown wires will be from the alternator and connect to the rectifier.  You can double check if you want, remove the points cover and make sure the black and white wires are connected to the points.

I made a schematic a few weeks ago. As long as the resistance between the brown wires is around 7 ohms between them I don't think it matters what the color is.
