175HS Fuel Petcock
« on: August 07, 2011, 03:48:56 PM »
I'm not sure how the two fuel lines split up and go to each individual carburetor.  Is the petcock suppose to have 2 hose outlets on it or dooes the fuel line split somewhere after the petcock?  If so, can someone explain?

Thanks!

Steve

I'm new to these bikes but my 200 RS has 2 outlets at the petcock.  Just looked in the parts catalogue (which covers both my 200 RS and your 175 HS) and they only list one petcock which has 2 outlets pointing front and rear.  Are you missing your petcock?  It's common in vintage bikes to replace the petcock with a after market in that case you might have to T the lines if it only had one outlet.

Hi NC_MULE,
Thanks for the information.  That's what I was thinking, but wasn't sure.  I do have a petcock, but someone must have changed it to a single outlet along the way.  They had the hoses split  with an in-line tee and then going off to each carb.  Looks like I will have to get the correct petcock with the two outlet.  Much appreciated!

Steve, There's a closeup picture of the fuel petcock on my grey 200 MKII SS. Shows pretty good the two outlets. Now, that's not a stock petcock, it's an aftermarket unit that works perfectly for me. You'll find some info on it in my message thread. Good luck.

Hi Gary,
I found the picture of the petcock (very nice bike by the way) but could not find your thread about it.  Can you post a link?
Thanks.

Parts n' more makes a Universal Fuel Petcock  Part # 20-0100  $36.00
You will also need the chrome adapter nut  Part # 20-0105      $  6.00
Shipping will be about $9.00

That's your only option at this point.  Good luck.
