If I remember correctly there was either discussion here about that issue (can't find it) or it was on instructions sent with my new pads (can't find that either if there was any  ::) ) ...... but apparently you're suppose to bend the flanges on the tank in a bit to hold the repop pads tighter to the tank.

Some of mine are like that some aren't but l just put up with it as regards to bending the fixing edges l thought about that but decided against its potential damage that in my mind outweighed the rewards
Good luck

I've usually used some heat to help get the pad edges pushed up and over the edges of the steel flange. Either a hair dryer or heat gun if you're careful.

Yes you do have to tap the metal flange edge a bit closer to the tank only about 1/16 all way around, play with it  a bit, does not take a much as it seem like it would, this edge hold rubber against tank, the flange is easy to bend out if would want to hope this helps   Jeff Bar

The tanks chromed ,painted and lined at an astonishing £1100.not keen on hammering it.should have done that before finishing

You do not have to hammer just a gentle movement with say a rubber hammer, not need to beat the  #&^# out of it. Jeff Bar

I agree with Karl Swartout.

A little heat and a gentle touch goes along way.

I have had good luck by starting the pad on the
front point of the tank and slowly curling the edge of the
pad over the metal lip and pressing the pad in.

Good luck,

Randy
