Shelbyville Plating
« on: January 28, 2013, 10:26:46 AM »
FYI to all members: It seems that Shelbyville Plating in Indianna no longer does zinc plating. I sent them some parts for chrome as well as zinc, plating. I got a call from them today (Jan.28), and was informed they are not doing zinc plating.

I look forward to getting the chrome plated parts back  soon, and will post pictures.

My first parts are down at Shelbyville. I decided to test them out with Richard's recommendation. On the phone they seem great to work with and eager to please. Heads up on thin steel parts: they do not copper and have to work in conjunction with another to accomplish that, which should add considerable time and money to the process. I may try Lonnie Brown for the headlight bucket and shock tubes if I can convince myself to spent the extra money.

Hi Davis,

I am not sure where you are located, but I work with Shelby plating pretty often. They have done some nice work for me. I have headlight buckets and ears done there without issue. If your parts are badly pitted then that will be a problem. If you are in my area you are welcome to stop by and see some of their work. I also have some headlight buckets extra which are already done and maybe some fork ears. Let me know if you are interested.
Thanks Mike   (317)729-2418
