I say go for it. If you sell your bike later, it's not like you did something that's hard to undo. It's just cosmetic.

I'd like to see a GTR with a gold and chrome tank. I think it would look good. Steve, in 1967 it was common to customize your bike to suit your taste so paintin it gold would still be correct for the time period. ;D

I have a gold and chrome GTR that will be assembled shortly in unrestored condition. I will post some photos when I get it put back together. It will look good setting next to my unrestored GTO which is also gold and chrome.
Later Mike

Well Mike, I'm pretty sure that if he did, he would probably go out of his way to help a fellow member out!  :P

Thanks for all the feedback guys.  I will admit I was a little gun shy discussing the color change.  I'm still not 100% sure I'm going to go with the gold, but that's defintely the color I am leading towards.
Heck, I think most of you know I changed the color on my 175HS to candy orange.  So I have been known to do these color changes. LOL.
Does anyone have a paint code for the GTO gold they would be willing to share?  I researched the House Of Kolors website and I think the UK-14 "Spanish Gold" would be a really good match.  This would have to be applied over their BC-02 "Orion Silver" universal base coat.
Let me know.  Thanks again.

Steve,

If you do paint the Welsh flag on your GTR tank, make sure you check it for Leeks afterwards!!

Steve,

I've seen some posts/info for the GTR red either here or on other Bridgestone sites, but never anything on the GTO gold.

I bought an NOS gold side cover from Richard both because I needed one and also to have something that could be color matched by my painter. I will certainly post the paint code when I have it, but based on my current situation, that could be a while.  :(

Hopefully, someone will fill us in sooner.  ;D

Yes, I was hoping one of our members here could provide all of us with the paint code for the gold.  I went through all the old posts and the only paint information I could dig up was for the red.

Well waddya know.... Bikenfoot emerges from his lair and drops a golden egg on us!  ;D

I'm leaning towards more of a 1970 vs 1971 gold. However, what ever color it is, there doesn't appear to be a whole lot applied.  :o
