Feeling Stupid
« on: March 13, 2015, 06:38:38 PM »
First of all, I really am getting old and pushing 75 years old and computer stupid.  This is my 2nd attempt to send this, I clicked on "spell check" and it deleted the entire message.  I started building motorbikes back in 1952 with a lot of help from old guys like me, then that went to motorcycles. In 1954, I bought an engine that said "PUMA" on the side and I think it was an early Triumph made in Germany about 1939, at least before WW-2.  This thing was never ran and with help, mounted it in a Jawa frame that went faster than I wanted to go.  Since that time, I have owned several motorcycles and Bridgestone was my favorite with the rotary valves. I now own a replacement engine that has never been ran, a 50cc Step Tru engine that I intended to put in a 24 inch bicycle frame but have never been able to find one like I want. I have a motorbike that I made out of a mountain bike with a Stihl 009 engine in it that has taken me 42 mph, to fast for a bicycle.  My wife is wanting me to sell this stuff, the 50cc Bridgestone might be for sale in the near future. By the way, what is a "TAG" that is below the "SUBJECT"? I never done this computer stuff before and having a hard time getting into this sending messages.  Oldguy

Welcome to the site!
Sorry, but I guess I'd have to start a new topic to see if I can find the "tag" you mentioned. I hadn't noticed it (and obviously not tried to use it before).

I think it's the "Tags:" field at the bottom of each thread that is being referenced, but I have never used it personally. Maybe one of the admins could give us an idea??
In the mean time, since its seems it isn't used (at least not by Smokey or me) you can probably ignore it.

According to the Help section of the Forum, tags are the codes that are inserted to modify text to make it bold, underlined, italics, etc.  Go to Help, Posting, and toward the bottom of the page is an explanation.  You don't see the codes in the posted text, only when you are typing the post prior to submitting. I don't quite understand how the TAGS: item at the bottom is related.
