More Success for Ziggy!
« on: October 21, 2013, 06:50:05 AM »
At the weekend, we in the UK had our major show of the year at Stafford, predominantly for classic Japanese bikes. Generally, this is where the best of the best are on display and I just wanted to say well done to Ziggy, whos GTR won 2nd best in the 1960s catagory. Coming second implies that the first place bike was 'better'...however, this is all based on the judges opinion and with so many fantastic bikes at Stafford, any award has to be recognised as an acolade.
Well done Zig...I tried as usual to see you at some point over the weekend but our paths just didn't cross!

Steve

Well done, that's a grand achievement for a bike with the tank on backwards and the badges missing off it (joking)
Sorry I didn't make it down either , I was worried about the petrol situation up here with the main refinery shut down, maybe see you at the Scottish show ???

Had a peep at your GTR at the weekend and I must say it looks superb.
It has certainly given me a bit of a boost to make a start on mine.

Thanks for the compliments guys, yes standards are of the highest class at Stafford but as Steve pointed out any placing is an achievement in itself.

Didn't see you at the usual B&B Steve or at the show so assumed you weren't there, maybe next year?

So I guess you all want to know what came first and beat my GTR into second place, well here it is below so make your own mind up.

Must have been the lack of winkers that did you in!  ;D

I didn't stop at the B&B this year Lee, instead, I stayed with a mate who only lives about 4 miles from the showground as I was on my own. I came to the stand several times, but obviously, you wern't around. Hopefully, will be completing one or two bikes myself in time for next year.

It seems that the  Suzuki 350 and 250 two stroke twins have always had a following in Britain.

Well I have no preference, I like most motorcycles of that era, I like the Suzuki's, Kawasaki's, Yamaha's  just as well as the Bridgestone's, BUT !!! I don't like that bike, it's way too shiny and over the top, it looks nothing like the finish on the original bikes and for that reason the Bridgestone would have taken my vote, In my mind you were robbed.
