Electrical bullet connectors stuck solid ?, try this simple tip

(1/1)

BRT-GTR:
I have struggled to disconnect the bullet connectors when stripping down and have ended up pulling the connectors off the wires before now.
Well, here's an easy way to get them apart. Simply warm the connectors up, gently with a hairdryer, this softens the hardened insulation, breaks any seal and they seem to pop apart easier than when they were new. Give it a try, works every time.        Used it today to unhook the headlight connectors, wouldn't budge before I warmed them up.

That's good to know Brian, cuz yelling at them didn't seem to work!   ;D

ya'll probably know this but a crusty wiring harness worth saving can be cleaned in the ultrasonic; connectors that are yellowed and even brown will return clear and nearly if not like new.

Strangely enough Brian, I've only recently discovered this myself after years of struggling and occasionally pulling bullets from the wiring. I use one of these DeWalt heat guns set at 70-80 deg.C...works a treat.
