I also just purchased my first Bridgestone for restoration here in Columbus, OH (and my first restoration project). Maybe I should have started with a Honda! ha. It is a 1966 BS 175DT and only has 6500 miles. So far, it has low compression at 80 psi, so it will need an engine rebuild (hopefully just new gaskets and not pistons etc.), carb rebuild, new electrical, brakes, and the list goes on to make it safe. After that, it will need re-chroming of fenders, stays, tank, and mufflers, polishing, etc. I am going to try and restore it completely with help from a local mechanic who specializes in classic bikes.
Richard was quick to get back to us on a list of potentially needed parts. He is an amazing resource.
