Looks like some of photos are from Jungle Scooters, Tokyo. Wonder if deepsouth is a member of this BS site?

Guys, a thread has already been started on these, although the title is a little obscure... ;D

Hello!
I'm Kotaro and selling J&R chambers replica on e-bay now.
It is the first time to sell on e-bay.
I made 10 sets of J&R for some years ago and two sets (chromed and non painted ) left
and hope someone in this site have it and fun for their 350 series.
The man who made these chambers is my friend and good skill.
He made some prototype and racing parts for HRC for years.
I will also put crash bumper for 350 to my e-bay listing soon.
Thank you,
Kotaro
-
Thanks for the pipes Kataro, can't wait to see them. Will be interesting to compare noise difference between them and my original unbaffled expansion chambers.
Later Mike
-
My thanks as well, Kotaro san. Looks like Mike and I have depleted your inventory...
Appreciate your help with my exhaust search...
...bert
-
Well Bert,
Looks like we both win on this one. Can't wait to hear the new pipes. Hope the silencers take some of the high pitched cackle out of them. Been a long time since I heard the chambers on a 350. I am going to run my unsilenced set first then the hopefully mellow silenced set. Will try to record and post the sound. Not sure how that will work.
Later Mike
-
Yep, worked out like we thought when we talked the other day...be a while before I can hear mine, but I'm pumped to have solved my exhaust quandry.
Now I'll have something to hear!
;D

-
Pretty much!...lol
and I am a big Tom Petty fan...

Pipes arrived this morning. Kataro you rock, they are perfect and will look awesome on my bike. Thanks so much for packing well and delivering quickly. Your fabricator does a real nice job and the plating is great. Nice to have a new part to install. Will run with extra rich mixture to prevent bluing. Thanks so much, if I can do anything for you over here let me know.

Thought I would post a few pictures of Kataro's fine product. Hopefully I can make it happen. Posting pictures not my best talent.

Thanks to Kataro.

Does anyone know if the second set is up for sale yet?
-
Here's a look at the second set of pipes Kotaro had listed. I received them around noon today. Incredible workmanship.
-
Sorry guys, this is the set I bought, and they just arrived an hour or so ago. The workmanship is amazing!
I had originally thought I would powdercoat them, but I am going to look into plating.
...bert
-
Where are your pictures Bert? Would like to see how yours look.
Later Mike
-
Sorry, Mike...
Busy day around the ranch...
;D
Will post some tomorrow...
...bert

Mike,
Very nice exhaust can not wait to hear them!!
Thanks.
Steve.
-
Morning Steve,
I am anxious to hear them also. Weather is not cooperating. When it gets a little nicer weather I will try my old chambers and these new ones on the bike I have running for sale. Will try to make a short video to capture the sound. Hopefully it will work out. Stay out of the snow.
Later Mike
-
Pictures as promised...
I think they really are too nice to coat/paint...
It'll be quite a while before I can hear these, so I'm looking forward to your video Mike...
...bert
-
Very nice. Glad you got them.

Looks like the 2nd set, and a 3rd? set have been sold. I thought there were only 2 sets available.
Mr. Katoro, if you have more sets for sale could you post the info on this site?
-
Those pipes look great, might be I will be looking for some too come the summer.
-
In my email exchanges with Kotaro san, he told me there were 3 sets left: 1) chrome set Mike A bought, 2) the unfinished set I bought, and 3) a set he has kept for himself. He originally built 10 sets and these 3 exhaust his supply. In order to make more there would need to be a commitment from someting like 10 BSers wanting a set. Something akin to the clutch project.
Kotaro, please correct me if i got any of this wrong...thx

Hello,
I'm very happy that 3 sets of expansion chambers have delivered to the US owners safely.
I hope it will be good stuff for coming spring season !
For this J&R reproductions project, I made 10 sets of these as a minimum lot.
6 sets have sold in Japan and 1 set were for Ray in Ireland, 3 sets have gone to USA.
(8 chromed, 2 unpainted)
That's all I ever made.
I wish to keep a set for myself as a last set but Bert san and CL-100 san wanted unpainted at the same time.
I'm happy to sell both to US Bridgestone enthusiasts rather than keeping it for me.
If anyone want to have a set, I should make order as 10 sets as a minimum lot.
Yes, please remind of a 350 conrod and clutch project.
And I listed a bumper guard for 350 series to ebay.
If you have interesting, please see it.

I have 2 sets in stock.
Thank you,
Kotaro

Kotaro,
I too would be interested in a set of pipes. Maybe you can start a list here and see if you get 10 interested people.
I'm not sure if this is something you would have to run by Richard first or not.
Thanks.
Steve
-
Hello Kotaro,
I would be interested in a set also.
DL
-
Thanks for clearing up my misunderstanding, Kotaro san.
Looks like you may be back in business based on the early responses...
;D
...bert
-
Hey Bert, you could powder coat something like this.....
(sorry, couldn't get the text to line up correctly w/basic MS paint but you get the idea. ;D )
-
I was thinking of something like this with the J&R Logo...
...bert
Kinda like this: (picture from Kotaro san's Gallery)
-
Bert,
I would definitely leave them "raw" and clear coat them with either powder coat or high temp. paint.
Steve S.
-
That's a look I had not considered. This was supposed to be getting easier...lol
The metal work really does stand on its own, so I'll consider your suggestion seriously.
Thanks Steve...
...bert
-
I think they would look awesome plated with black chrome.
-
Another really good idea!...thanks Colin...

Hello Kotaro, I am certainly interested in purchasing these chambers from your friend, I would like to know how much money he is asking for them, and maybe an estimate of shipping to Australia. Many Thanks Graeme

If this is the place to get on the list for a pair - I'm in.

-
Hello Kataro.
Are there any more pipes available?
Thank you
-
Has someone actually contacted kataro directly? I'm sure there would be enough numbers to run another batch?
Ryan.
P.s I would be keen, I would just need to get it past the minister for finances and social events...
