Oil tank pad
« on: December 06, 2019, 03:24:10 PM »
Another memory loss --- please don't laugh
Can anyone tell me where the tear drop shaped "oil tank pad" goes on a GTR ?
I do what the little voices tell me to do

How big is this pad? Previous owner had painted the tank white (!), and did not replace the pad.

There is a raised section on the back of the tank, at the front. The pad glues on here, it is 8mm thick hard rubber and bears against the frame down tube to help stop the tank vibrating and cracking the mount.
Pad is same shape as raised section with approx 10mm gap around outer edge. Can't see it on this site but there is a service letter detailing shape and where to fit,  if anyone can post a link.

Unspoiled by progress.
I'm so glad I grew up in the 60s & 70s. I did so much stupid stuff and there's no record of it.............Anywhere !!
