This is something I've been trying today without success. As you can see, this spare pipe I have is not great but still worth restoring I think. It's odd though as the pipe gets this far and then comes to a stop, almost like it's hitting something inside the pipe as opposed to getting stuck because of corrosion, etc. It turns from side to side fairly easily as well. I've not had to remove one of these before, so am I missing something? ???

Hi Steve,
I had one stick on me like that and it was no fun getting it out. In my case, it was caused by a small rusted out piece in the perforated section of the baffle that had bent out just enough to cause havoc with my attempt to remove the pipe.
Since I didn't intend to save the baffle (super rusty), I just drilled a hole through the outer section, slipped in an equally expendable screwdriver and proceeded to pound the heck out of it till it finally came out.

Thanks for the picture MP...I hadn't appreciated quite how much pipe is still left in the silencer! I actually think the pipe is also slightly bent as the gap around the silencer is wider on one side from the other...this could be part of the problem. I have been using some heat but think I'm going to need to up the anti with this.
Think I may need to ask Richard if these are still available.

try knocking it out with a broom handle through the header pipe end
