BS 200 SS Exhaust Header Question
« on: February 03, 2022, 07:51:16 PM »
Are the headers from a 200 scrambler the same as from a 175? Also, if anyone knows of someone parting a 200 I could sure use some headers that dont have holes in them (already fixed but still leak - yeah I know; I didnt give the guy much to work with so garbage in, garbage out). Thanks!

Yes, they are the same.  The parts manual for the 175-200 on this site under downloads will show the differences between the 175s and 200s.
Good luck finding your parts.

Yes all 175HS and 200SS have the same header. Mufflers were mostly chrome with different exhaust tips until the checkered 200 when they ran out of japan's chromed and the USA chromed neither tanks or mufflers. The same goes for the 200 MII-7 tanks when they changed from chrome to two tone paint. The checkered 200 had 4 solid colors and a variety of mufflers should have started fall 1970. Two tone paint ended for the 200 at the same time. If people provide Frame, engine and serial #'s we could see when it changed from chromed to paint. So 200 chrome tanked owners send me your numbers
