new 350 seat covers
« on: November 23, 2008, 06:52:59 PM »
Hi all.
What has happened to the guy who was making the seat covers for the 350 bikes. He was supposed to contact me when the new batch was complete but I have not heard from him. Does anyone no how to contact him or if he has got covers yet? Thanks in advance. Mike  (317)729-2418 :)

Was this the guy that had the really pricey covers, and essentially was "sliced and diced" by the members on the Yahoo board for the cost?

I don't know, he was pricing them to me for something over $100. Just would like to find him again. He may have been just hot air, David Bond had supposedly gotten a cover from him in the past. If anyone knows of him please reply or send me an e-mail. fleagle14@embarqmail.com  Thanks Mike

Yeah, must be a different guy.  Or he came to a sense of practicality.  The guy I am thinking of originally wanted $350.00 for a seat cover...

CafeTBird....the guy you mean is from a company called 'Coolretrobikes'. I e-mailed him recently to see whether he had updated his GTR covers to have the correct seams along the top, instead of the 'stitching' that he was using previously. I had a reply saying that he had, but when I requested pictures, I had no further reply.

Mike...do you mean Brian McDonagh over here in the UK? If so, I know that he does use the Yahoo Bridgestone Groups message board...might be worth leaving a message there.

The "cool dude" at coolretrobikes still has my $380 and I have no seat cover two years later.

Hello all,

I know some guys can make re-cover seat for Bridgestone in USA or U.K ... It looks very nice work.
If you could send your seat to Japan, I will bring it to motorcycle seat specialist to re-cover it looks as same as original.
They are known as special work for show model and museum for some Japanese motorcycle companies.
We also made "BRIDGETONE" logo (early and later) on seat by silk screen and chrome seat pin as same as original size and they can make correct top seam too.
If you have interesting photos of re-covered seat, I will send photos to you.
Sorry, I do not know how to put photos with this mail.

Their price will be $350-$400 ... it depends on condition.
They need 2 weeks for the work. No 2 years, Rob L !!
But I guess postage should be problem...

I'm happy to remind it as one possibility of choice to re-cover your seat in Japan again !!

Thank you,

Kotaro
