1965 BS90 mountain
« on: July 30, 2015, 05:21:04 PM »
Just purchased a 1965 Mountain that was posted in the classifieds.  I had a family friend pick it up in Lake Elmo, MN.  I won't take delivery for a few weeks and haven't seen it in person.  I hope to make a rider out of it.  It will go on the back burner for a while, need to finish current bikes.  Thanks for posting the BS stuff from outside your area Moonpup!  I would have never found it without your help.  Thanks Steve

You're welcome Steve, it's always nice to hear that my efforts have helped someone.  8)

Btw, I've always thought the Mountain 90 was a cool little bike. I like the single seat on them.

That's a "Thank You" from me too DM, the latest HS 175 was a sweet find, with the help of a few friends it runs like a top now. Escanaba was a fun road trip as well, used be stationed up in that area some years back (Mqt), so a double bonus for me...DL  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D

PS: Mqt Steve, been riding my 66 Surfrider 90 Mtn the last couple days and that little champ just love's to run, good luck on your latest find.

So who on here has not found something because of Moonpup's sleuthing? I have a GTR parts bike in my shop he found in San Jose, CA. That was a nice ride too, back to my old work stompin' grounds. There are no locals shielded from the guise of the M'Pup. Thanks to his Mama!  ;D ::) ;D

Some better photos of my new 90 mountain.  Bike looks to be in much better shape than I hoped.  Besides the engine being in boxes.  The actual basket case.  Hey Mopar392, what is a surfrider?  I see the name now and then but don't know/can't find anything about them. Thanks, Steve

The only thing it appears to be missing is the basket. ;D

Hey bert, the rack/basket may be there?  I haven't seen the bike or parts in person.  The seat looks a bit strange too.  It may be a home made replacement.  I'm sure there will be more missing/mystery parts.  Overall a great deal!  Steve

Hi Steve, quite frankly I don't know what the Surfrider Badge means or where it came from as all the bikes are the same BS/Surfrider? Only thing I can figure is may be geographical specific, maybe California, Bert thinks Florida, hopefully another member will chime in for a historical?
Nice bike you got there and looks complete, good luck! So how much for the snowblower sitting next to it... ;D

Thanks Lee!  If anyone knows the story behind the Surfrider models, please fill us in.  I think I've seen both 60cc and 90cc bikes labeled "Surfrider".  Is that what they called them at a department store or large dealer?  Maybe start a new thread for the Surfrider.  Thanks, Steve
