Title: Kick Start Spring Re-Assembly
Post by: stingray68 on June 06, 2017, 08:00:21 AM
Hello All,

I have been in the process of rebuilding my BS Trail 90 and I am hoping one of you might be able to help me out....I took lots of pics and many notes during the disassembly of the engine, except for the kick start shaft and spring.  Does anyone happen to have a good picture of the actual parts.  The pics I see in the manuals are hard to see much detail and the parts list are sketches, so it is hard to determine what parts are what.  Thank you all in advance.....Mike

Hey Mike,
I have a kickstart mechinism on my bench for a BS90 and can provide pictures.  I haven't been able to post photos do to format problems.  Send me an email and I will take/send any pictures you need.  Use the mail icon under my avatar.  Happy to help, Steve

Hey Steve,

Thank you very much for the pics and description!  It was exactly what I needed!  Now, hopefully I did not totally mess up, but I am pretty sure that the transmission gears are not in neutral anymore....Besides what is in the service manuals do you or any of the other BS guys here have any words of wisdom on how to ensure I have these installed properly....Thank you all in advance.  I getting so close I can taste it!!  Mike

Mike,
I'm not sure what the problem is?  Have you tried shifting through the gears?  You may need to rock it back and forth to get the gears to shift without the engine running.  Good luck, Steve
