Hi,

Last fall I picked up two 175's in the hopes that I could bring one to life.

I want to send the cylinders to Millennium Tech for NSC plating.  They want me to advise the piston clearance that I want them to work to.

The Bridgestone service manual shows .0015-.0025 on Page 29 and .001-.003 on page 80.

What should I ask for?

When I had them plate my 350 cylinders, I sent the pistons I intend to use along with the cylinders and they determined the clearance. You might want to ask about that approach. Welcome to the site.

The jugs are in relatively good shape and I purchased new pistons & rings from Richard.

Millennium has a form that they want sent in with the order and on it they ask for the desired clearance.

I am thinking .0020" but was hoping that someone from the forum had first hand experience.

Thanks for the comments.

The .002" is correct for nominal, they'll need the range .0015-.0025" to work to. Machining work isn't exact although they'll come close.
