Post by: Robert Renton on July 20, 2017, 10:46:22 PM
Hello all,was wondering if anyone can help me with this.I am assembling a 50 Homer engine from a box of bits,it's going ok but am stumped on how the transmission drum stopper spring is fitted.I have the correct spring according to parts manual but can't work out how it fits. Many thanks.Rob,Tamworth Australia.

Hi Rob
Congrats. You are the 2nd person in OZ that I know of that owns a Homer. The first is Bob from Nowra who is a friend of mine. He is currently also re building a Homer. I will send you a persnal message via this site with his phone number.

Hi Ray,I would really appreciate that thank you.I don't actually own the bike ,a friend of mine does.He has restored the rest of the bike and left the motor till last. The motor has been sitting in a box in pieces for fourty years so it is a bit of a challenge. Thanks again.Rob.

Rob
Just in case you were unaware, there is a free Homer parts manual on this site to download in the 'downloads' section. It would be great to see the Homer at the VJMC National Rally to be held in Tamworth on the first weekend in March 2018. I hope to be there with a Bridgestone.
Cheers
Ray

Thanks Ray,I do have a parts manual, would have been lost without it but thanks anyway.I am not sure if the owner is aware of the vjmc but will let him know.I will definitely be there, was a marshal at this years event. Will look out for you.Rob.
