Title: Air filter unglued: good adhesive to use?
Post by: TMX_Maverick on November 28, 2012, 06:18:50 PM
Hi all,
The NOS pleated air filter I just bought came unglued from the chrome end cover, probably just due to age.  What's a good adhesive to use to glue it back on?

On a similar note, would I be better off looking for a superior, modern pleated filter and gluing it on instead?  (Anyone have any experience successfully shopping for one?)
Thanks in advance

TMX Maverick,
I used super glue on my TMX filter and it still together.
Thanks.
Steve.

I used silicone bathroom / gutter sealant . Excellent result - very strong.

Cheers

I've created my own filter elements many times by using a hot glue gun to seem the filter medium together. It works for foam and fluted paper/metal screen as well. Pretty fast and durable. Mark.
