Carb needles
« on: December 28, 2017, 02:25:16 PM »
Gday guys
I've about seven pretty trashed carbs nearly all have damage to the float pin mounts and I'm just trying to get two operational
Question is
Is the shorter thicker needles for the later design carbs
Thanks

Thanks heaps Mike
Just what I needed looks like I will have to find some new later model ones
Cheers

You're lucky, cuz those are the easier ones to find.

Yes it seems that way
All the other early ones have been repaired at some point with the float pin repair kits
The brass bushes have all worn out the mounts and fallen out
The only way to fix them would be to fill and drill
I will try to post a pic
Cheers

I drilled and tapped my early carbs to accept the later needle valves.

I still have the tap and am happy to post it to you to borrow?
