the trans acts like its locked up...but it aint....you can put it in gear say 1st and pull the clutch in and push it like 10 feet then itll catch and stop then you can roll it back then itll roll another 10 feet and do the same thing....when in out of gear itll do the same thing...right up above the motor sproket there was a nickel size whole that somehow got there...i took a nickel put it over the whole and jb welded it....im thinking that the metal from the whole fell in the motor could that cause the trans to do that??????????and thanks for your reply

there are some old discussions about tank rust. Let's see if my links work properly. If so, they will show what worked for me.

and if I didn't do the links right, I guess you could cut and paste.....

so much for computer literacy!  :-[
the above post was supposed to be 2 seperate links, and I thought there used to be a button which allowed us to edit our own posts.
edit- now I am using the modify button, it must have been as Richard mentions below....

Dave &  Jeff

Both you guys are correct, there is a MODIFY button on the right side of your postings, however
If someone is uploading a file to the DOWNLOADS section, the MODIFY button is not available
at that same time. Last evenings I was uploading many files to the DOWNLOAD section.

Perhaps all this was occurring at the same time.

IMHO - Few people ever make money restoring old bikes unless they are very rare, with a real confirmed history.  Otherwise, it's a money-losing propositioin - you just do it because you like the bike.
