Hello
« on: May 14, 2011, 11:27:40 PM »
Just purchased a twin, the seller thought it is a 200, but I don't know at all. It is a twin, it is in my van still so I cannot even really look for ID marks on it. It has scrambler pipes.

The PO says he got it without pistons, so it needs those. (any known piston swaps with yam or suzi kx, etc?) It needs carb boots and an air cleaner, tires, and probably a crank shaft, lights, tank rubbers and the list goes on. Maybe I will part it out, but since they're cool bikes I prefer to make it go again.

Please chime in if you know of these parts available for cheap. Also if anyone knows for sure whether this is a 200 or 175 could help.

Yes, it is a 200.  The 2 "gaps" in the 4th fin on the cylinders are only on the 200 cylinders.  I think the pistons are still available from the parts suppliers on listed on this site.  Check with them.

Good eye Karl...

Question: Mine has a 200cc stamped at the base of the left side cylinder.  Do you know if that is the case with all 200s?  Just curious.

Thanks for the replies, all.

I had also gleaned from the forum that the speedometer and headlight were a single unit on the 175's.  I will check to see if I have a 200 stamped on the motor once I unload it. Still trying to figure out where it is going to go, so I have just left it crammed into the van.

I am in central Oklahoma, went down past Austin to pick it up.

Thanks, I appreciate all the help I can get. I think the motor will start comming apart soon. I was told it doesn't have pistons, but I see that they are there, at least on the port side.
