I'm so #*$#@%& Ticked-off right now!
« on: July 09, 2011, 11:12:03 AM »
Late last night, an ad pop-ed up on Denvers Craigslist for 2 350 GTR's. When I opened it, it was actually a GTR & a GTO. He wanted $400 for the pair! I immediately sent an email (maybe just 10 min. after the ad was posted) saying I wanted the bikes. He responded after midnight and said to call after 6:30 this morning. So that's what I did.

His wife answers and says he's busy (they are having a garage sale this morning) but that he'd call me back in 10-15 mins. I waited and after 45 mins. I called back but got voice mail. After another 30 mins. I try again and got voice mail again. I then opened up his ad and......................IT WAS DELETED!

Haven't heard from him since........no call & no email.

If someone here got the bikes, congrats.  As for the seller............$%^*^$#%* - YOU !

This concludes my rant for the day.  >:(

That is terrible! I am glad I don't live anywhere near there as that would be a hard one to take.

I once drove 2 hours to see a bike as was agreed upon by me and the seller.  I said I will be there at 7pm.

I was 10 minutes away, and the guy calls and said it was sold.  I continued to the residence quite angry.  I pleaded my case and left after receiving $10 from him in gas money.  Eased the pain a bit.

This is like fishing and hunting.  You don't get one every time.

Thanks guys. I've calmed down somewhat now.  ;)

I just hated missing out on these mainly because of the price. It was so low, that shipping them down to south Texas would've been very do-able. There just doesn't seem to be any of these bikes anywhere near my location, so when I do find them, shipping is going to be a factor in any purchase I make.

So Reed.......Still got that number?

I don't recommend any one go the cheap way with transporting.

I knew of a guy transporting vintage snowmobiles at a discount rate.  He was driving alone half way across the U.S. in a older pickup pulling a borrowed trailer, sleeping in his truck, ect.  Advertised as the cheapest around.

Some how he got T-boned at a intersection.  All of the sleds were totaled.  The sleds were vintage and had not been appraised.  Problems arose with the insurance company as far as value went, ect.  Same thing will go for an old motorcycle, especially a Bridgestone that values are somewhat unknown.

He brought the remains back to NH where they then disappeared from another person's place they were supposed to be being fixed at.  Long story short, this guy was a screw up.  He was a nice guy, just dumb.

He told the customers for them to go after this guy who had them last and that he was now out of the picture.  No one got any thing as far as I know.  I was NOT a customer.

Spend the extra few hundred and get someone reputable with references.  You can at least sleep at night.

Thanks Coxy, do you have a link for what you're seeing. I'm not sure if the stuff I'm looking at is the same. Is this a complete bike or just parts?

Thanks,
Mike

hi, i had the tank from him, but all i wanted was the petcock, so he said he would just sell me the petcock. so he still has the tank and going to list it in a few days, so jump the queue, send him a massage, he has the seat on there and the air cover. hes a really nice chap to deal with. alan

Well, you know I just might. I haven't got it yet, I told him to hold on to it until we get the tank thing straightened out. From the pictures the carb cover looks to have been welded but usually you can file that down and polish it and its hard to tell that it has been welded.

I saw it and snapped it up just to have it. Some people hoard stuff but I am more than willing to let go of stuff if someone needs it. The way I was thinking was that it is far better for me to have it and I could pass it along to some of the good guys on the board here rather than have some lurker bury it somewhere never to be seen again. I know carb covers are somewhat hard to find.

Ok, I think I'm starting to hate Denver now!  :o

Yesterday these 2 GTR's showed up on Denver's craigslist and 30 min's after the ad was posted, I sent an email. (no phone # was listed in the ad) He had 2 GTR's, motors locked up, and no titles. Wanted $250 obo. for both.

As usual, not a peep out of the seller despite follow up emails being sent and finally late last night, the ad was deleted. He could've at least sent a thanks, but no thanks!

I'm starting to think there's something in the water there.  ;D
