New Purchase
« on: December 12, 2016, 11:27:11 AM »
I picked this up last weekend. Local shop said they got it rom a lawn mower/small engine shop. I only saw it there about a month ago. They just combined with another shop to take over and be the new Triumph dealer in San Diego. I like the fact that someone painted a Castrol logo over the top of it. Maybe sometime after Bridgestone went out of business?

Lawn mower / small engine shop? Was that the typical BS dealer?

When I first noticed Bridgestones back in '66 they were sold by A &A Mower in Walnutcreek Ohio.  The heart of Amish country.  In 1970 they sold there inventory to a partnership that started business as H &M Cycle, a dedicated motorcycle dealer who also moved into Norton, later Suzuki and Norton. Then Suzuki and Harley and then just Harley.  But yes, at the beginning in this area, they were sold by a mower and chainsaw shop.

I thought Lancaster County Pennsylvania is the heart of Amish country.
