WHAT TYPE OF 175 IS THIS?
« on: October 08, 2013, 01:56:48 PM »
Found this for sale advertised as a 1966/1967 175 Dual Sport. I know BS made a 175 Dual Twin street bike and Hurricane Scrambler, but were there any other 175cc models made? I always thought of a dual sport bike as an on/off road, like the Hurricane Scrambler. I am assuming this gentleman does'nt quite know what he has here. VIN is 18 B xxxxxx. Any thoughts?

Looks like a Dual Twin. There were only two road going 175 in the US. The Dual Twin and the Hurricaine Scrambler. However it appears the original Dual Twin handlebars have been replaced. Any other photos?

This bike's been on and off craigslist for over a year now... asking too much maybe?  ::)

Looks like a mostly stock DT 175 but the handlebars are possibly wrong or modified. It looks almost all there and in good condition but if its to much its not worth it.

Bert... ya snooze, ya lose!  ;D  I talked to the owner a year or so ago when he first listed this bike. The ad was actually for multiple Japanese bikes and mentioned a Bridgestone. I called to see what he had and he sent me pic's of this 175. Since then, the ad has been specifically for this bike.

So do we blame you for the high price he put on the bike. The link said 850 and there is no way someone should pay that for that condition bike.

First of all - man you guys are good. 1 photo and moonpup has the craigslist link 6 hours later. That's good stuff!!
Thanks for all the info and opinions. I agree the price is too steep for a bike with no title, no ignition, wrong handlebars and no front fender. I am sure that list is incomplete upon further inspection.

I also inquired about this bike about a year ago, it's been on and off for sale for a while. It's in SE Penna. The guy wouldn't come down at all, didn't know much about it either. Tail light is also missing. Am glad I waited for I found the same year bike only about 50 miles away with lower mileage and much better condition for less.

I've been looking at the ad and wondering how he came up with that price.

I found a complete 200 in Harrisburg for $200.
