Brand new, have a few questions
« on: October 20, 2013, 10:25:22 PM »
So I have been browsing the site for a few days now, I am picking up a 66 (maybe?) 175dt  saturday for 100 bucks, the plan is to turn it into a road race bike. I just was wondering what size the wheels are and how many spoke holes they have so I can look into getting some aluminium shoulder rims, akront probably. I am also wondering about the fork tube diameter for clip ons? I am sure I will have a butt load of other questions once I have the bike in my garage. but I will start with these two.
Thanks!

Welcome to the site.
The MGB photos look like a fun hobby.

Hi,

the wheels are 18in, 36 hole. The forks are 32mm. What Org are you planning to race with?

I am not sure yet, i am in the air force and expect to probably be moved before the bike is done. i will just have to see what is available where ever i am. in the mean time, ill just try and get it running and looking the way i want, when it comes time to race ill do a race motor build, Thanks for the information! any other advice would be great!
