SPORT 90 cylinder base gasket
« on: April 02, 2017, 01:36:17 PM »
Hello all -

I have to replace a bad cylinder base gasket on a Sport 90. I received one the other day and it is in 3 pieces - not torn, but legitimately looks factory cut.

Is this right or should it be in 1 piece?

Also, I cannot find torque specs or tightening sequences anywhere for cylinder to motor or head to cylinder.

Anyone have any answers?

Thanks

Jade

Hey Jade,
The gasket should be in one piece.
Torque setting for the 6mm cylinder nuts: 70-85 Inch pounds (5.8-7.2 ft. lb.) from Bridgestone 90 Service Standards Manual by Rockford.  Good luck, Steve

Thanks Steve - Is that the cylinder base nuts, the cylinder head nuts or all of them?

Jade,
That's for the small hard to get to cylinder base nuts.
Cylinder head nuts torque: 95-113 inch pounds (7.9-9.4 ft. lbs.).
Let me know if you have any other questions, Steve

Thanks Steve -

I have printed off the tech manual from this website, but torque specs are not given in that manual.

I assume I should torque them in a criss cross pattern?

Thanks again!

Hello all -

Where are people getting the little mudflap on the bottom of the front fender for the Sport 90's. I cannot seem to find them anywhere.

Also I am looking for a front brake cable for a Sport 90 and a clutch lever.

Thanks!!

Jade

Jade

You could have asked in you last  list request to me.
You asked about the rear mud flap but not the front.

Did not ask for a cable or lever either,  please send me an email if interested

Thanks
