New member in Albuquerque NM
« on: July 08, 2016, 06:55:08 PM »
I'm a 40 yo dirt bike enthusiast. After 30 years I decided to pull out my chibi (my first bike) and see if I could restore it well enough to ride again. I had a lot of fun on this little bike until I blew up the transmission. Finding this site has has givin me new hope on getting the bike running.

Welcome to the group!
Don't give up on a bike with sentimental value, I'm sure some parts can be found if that's what it needs.

I'm pretty excited to get my project underway. I have removed the engine from the bike and striped it down to just the bottom end. I'm waiting for this weekend to dig deeper into the possible issues.
The seat got bent about 15 years ago when I picked the bike up by the seat and handle bars. I left the seat bent in the picture to document the beginning of my project.
After removing the seat, I managed to decrease the angle of the bend.

Welcome aboard. This Chibi has a Bridgestone  plate on the engine's left side.
