1965 Bridgestone 50 sport
« on: February 18, 2014, 07:10:38 AM »
Good Morning,
Purchased another addition to my Bridgestone family yesterday. Cute little 50 sport, never had one before. This will be a new learning experience. Should be more good schooling for the Bridgestone Mechanic trainee. HaHa

  Steve,
Plan on trying to get some pictures tomorrow. I think enough snow melted today so I can get it out and shoot a few photos. May need to get the Bridgestone Mechanic trainee to help push thru the snow.

I am also in the middle of a 50 Sport restoration. I started a thread on the 50 wheels. http://bridgestonemotorcycleparts.com/index.php?topic=3399.0

Take a look and see if any of you see a similar stamp on your wheels.

Mike,

The bike looks great!  I see you've still got your snow there.  Ours is all gone, finally.

Thanks Rowland,
Yes, still a little snow. Mostly gone today, was 60 degrees yesterday. Wind today drying up the mess. The little bike will be cool. Not sure if I will restore it, believe it will run as is. Chrome and paint mostly serviceable, bike only has like 570 miles always stored inside. Will see how it shakes out when the temperature rises.

Inside these Bridgestone 50 60 90 100 engines there are a lot of parts.
To strip and rebuild these engines is a lot of work just as much as the bigger ones.
Pulling the crankcases apart and back is a job in its self etc.
Thanks.
Steve.

Thanks, mine is real nice. I do not want to restore the bike. Like the original unrestored bikes.
