hi all I live in Brisbane Australia I just got my first bridgestone 90 when I first saw some pictures of the bridgestone bikes I love the look of them. I wanted a project for my son and myself to do looks like this little bike is it.
I got a few questions if anybody can help
1- I don't know where to get parts from?
2- how do I tell what year it is?
the vin number is 12D058484
this site has a lot of info on it about bridgestones which will help me a lot

Yes, I still have my Bridgestone. Although I've been considering selling it to fit another bike into the garage. 1. Where to get parts? The internet! 2. There's a list some where in this forum that will tell you the build date based on the numbers you have.

It appears that your bike is a 90 mountain which is a nice model, don't see many of them. Richard the owner of this site should have a lot of the parts you will need. Good luck with the project.

It does look like the Mountain, with a low exhaust. Most of them have the high pipe. Good luck with the project! Ask lots of questions, very good people here willing to help. Steve

Hi Mick, tried to PM but "inbox is full" so message wouldn't send.
I was thinking if I put it on ebay starting at $700 with a buy it now of $900.
It's a runner. The only non original bit is the seat. I've got the rubber side covers for the tank. Plus a few bits and pieces I got from the internet.
I've got the import papers & the original paperwork from when it was bought by Mr John W Slivinski of St Louis Missouiri for US$100.00 on 12Nov1966.
He owned it for 48 years, then, on 08Jan2014 he sold it to The Australian Motorcycle Museum who imported it to Australia and they sold it to me.

I have also sent Mick a message. Your bike looks like a hybrid, 90/100 Sport tank with an early 90 Mountain muffler, later ones were on the other side.

from the ID plate, it's a june 65 mountain. The tank is not original, but it is a bridgestone tank.

I'm not 100% on this, but I think the left side exhaust is on the oil injected models (On the Mountains). I've seen the plastic right side covers with melted spots where the muffler runs. Just a thought, Steve

Mostly correct Steve,
I have 3 x Mountains all Australian delivered.
1. Late 1965 early 1966 with 'flat sided tank' exhaust on right metal covers and pre-mix
2. 1967 with later style tank exhaust on left and pre-mix with metal side covers
3. 1967 as per #2 oil injected
The 2 x 50 Sports I have are both 1966 one with badges on plastic side covers and the other no badges???
Also both the 1967 Trails I have owned (still have one) have upswept left side mufflers not down type as per USA delivered ones.????
Must have been interesting at the Ageo factory in Tokyo in those days😊😊😊

Hey Ray,
Do you have any photos of the two tanks? I'm not sure if I've noticed the difference. Unless you're talking about the 90 sport tank? I would like to get one of each model. Every time I think I've figured out how many there were I find another design. In hmk's photo the bike has; low exhaust pipe, single saddle, no large rear chain ring, sport tank and oil injection. What model does that make it? I guest it depends what the vin tag says? Steve

I will post photos later today, I am off for a 25Km bicycle ride this morning. Meanwhile check out the gallery on this site for photos of my 1967 Mountain either under 90s or Restorations. As far as I know Mountains only came in Blue. Mick's (HMK) bike (black) is probably a Deluxe with a Mountain seat and rack added later. It looks like it has a Mountain or Trail front mudguard. It is possible that the frame was re-sprayed black at an earlier time. As it is oil injected it is likely a 1967 model.

hi I got the vin numbers of the bridgestone on the frame it has 12D058484 and on the frame neck it has KW080033 and on the motor it has 12D058171 also just a question was it very common for bridgestones to have single seats with rack?

Your bike is from April 1966. The single saddle is common on the Bridgestone 90 Mountain with the small painted rack. Your bike may be a combination of a couple models?

Thanks for the photos! I see what you mean now. Is the rounded tank used on the BS50/60's? My trail and mountain both have the flat sided tanks. I have one extra tank with flat sides too. Sorry for hijacking your thread Mitch. Steve

Yes the tanks on the 50/60 and 1967 Trail/Mountain/Deluxe and SR 90/100/175 are the same shape. The 90/100 Sport models have a longer shape.
