Post by: moonpup on March 21, 2017, 07:27:33 PM

Just Happen to have one on my Desk  :- Pin Diameter = 0.945" in Dia x 25.4 = 24mm dia.

                                                                  Pin Length = 2.072" x 25.4 = 52.6mm Long.

Hope this Helps  Bert

What information is available regarding the heat treat on these pins?

Crank pins are typical bearing journal specs, RC60-62 hardness. They can be relatively soft core, RC30-45 with either a nitrided case that will be .007-.015 deep or carburized which should provide from .020-.050 case depth. With the nitride heat treat, there's not much depth for finish grind after plus the thin case needs a harder core for support.

I just cut down some 175 pins to use for the crank jig and they were not soft in the center! Amazing how tough those things can be!
