350 shift level wokr on a 175?

Hello all, I am curious to know if the 350 shift lever shaft is the same size and has same splines as 175/200. So I can use one of those instead.

Hi,

All Bridgestones used the same size gearchange shaft and teh same splines, so the 175 lever should fit the 350 shaft, but I've no idea whether it will clear the 350 engine cases. The 350 carb cover sticks out quite a long way, and you may have to bend a 175 lever out give enough clearance.

Ok, thank you. I was thinking about using a 350 lever o a 175/200 since they are cheaper for nos ones and look cooler than the double shift peg ones.

Hi, Duckman,

As an alternative, try looking for a 100GP or 100TMX lever. Samd splines again, but these were mostly single-ended "toe" levers. (The very first tube frame 100s used the double-ended BS90 lever, judging by road test pictures).
