Hi Mick, don't know the answer to your question about other interchangeable sources, but here's a set currently on eBay. Not sure if he'll ship to the U.K. (you can always ask him though)

Check Ebay UK for 32mm x 44mm x 10.5mm fork seals, lots of aftermarket fork seals.  The BS seals are the same size as a number of 70's 175/185 Kawasakis, Yamahas and Suzukis.  Some of the listings for the aftermarket seals will give you a list of the models they fit, in case you want to buy OEM from a dealer. The BS175/200 doesn't need dust seals as the fork boots take care of that job.

      Hi Mick,
Brian in the UK, welcome to world of Bridgestone.
   Here's what you need :-
https://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/Seals-All-Oil-Seals/c19_4463/index.htm         Link doesn't seem to want to go to correct item but they do have the fork seal size specified above.

This company can supply most of the bearings and seals you may require and save shipping/import from US.
You're never too old to restore a BS, good luck and ask any questions you like, we are all here to help.

Bought them before from Kirk, went to all the trouble to install them, leaked like a fool telling stories.  Then had to remove them and install
original ones.  These have not leaked a drop to this day.  Moral of this story is CHEAP CHINA PARTS, you get what you pay for. crap.  Jeff bar

Jeff, I agree that you can't beat OEM parts for the best fit. I will however make 3 comments:

1. What you said re Chinese parts used to be said about Japanese manufacturing in the early 1960s.
2. I note that  SKF & NSK bearings are now made in China
3. Small BMW, Honda and Yamaha motorcycles are made in China

Bottom line is best to use original parts for your restorations.

Ray

Your three points taken but the China ones I got from Dennis Kirk were JUNK, poor quality both leaked.

I do not care if China now makes them for everybody, they must offer different quality ones because  BOTH of mine leaked a lot, while the NOS ones did and
still have not leaked any :-[. Jeff bar

Never pays to economise on oil seals, get the best you can. I always go for nitrile for normal duty or viton where they will be subjected to high temperatures. Stick to the well known quality brands.
Having said that, there will be some 'cheap chinese' front engine mount bushes going into my latest GTR. I'll let you know how they perform in due course. Easy to replace if they fail. :D
